Celebrate Losar with TCB's Northern Chapter

Here is an important event which will help Tibet Foundation

The Launch of TCB Manchester Chapter and its first celebration!

After much thought and deliberation, it seemed like the perfect thing to do.
It always amazes me, the true beauty of our culture and heritage and how important it is to connect with other Tibetans who live near you. This has not always been possible but through the power of Social Media I was able to find my Tibetan brothers & sisters residing in the North of England.

From a press of a button on Google and then being invited to a Tibetan Childs 1st birthday celebration, I got to meet 15 more new Tibetan faces in Manchester. Whilst discussing general social issues regarding Tibet over momo, shapalay and birthday cake it became apparent that not only was there interest but a burning desire to create a Tibetan community in the North of England.

Many phone calls later and the exploitation of Face Book, it was decided to hold a 2014 Tibetan Losar (New Year) for the 2141 Wood Horse Celebration in Manchester. This had never been done and sounded like a brilliant and exciting challenge.

Tibetans in Manchester felt that they wanted to celebrate this year's Losar (Sunday 2nd March 2014) telling people that the world should not forget about Tibet and its people. The purpose of the celebration is to fund raise for Tibet Foundation and Y-TEC - Young Tibetans Educational Club, London. Both organisations have done tremendous work for Tibetan people both in Tibet, India and the UK. We are pleased to have the backing from TCB (Tibetan Community in Britain) and to further promote the good work they do but throughout the northern regions of Britain. We feel not only will this help to unite all Tibetans living in the North but also to spread the word about Tibet, its plight, culture and beauty to Westerners via cultural events and inclusions.

Our first organised event is for Losar and all are welcome should you not be able to attend the London event. Likewise please spread the word to anyone you know who lives in the North of England that may be interested in attending.
