19th Anniversary Celebration

Samten Kyil (the Tibetan Peace Garden) was commissioned by Tibet Foundation and opened and blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in May 1999.
This year we are pleased to have Drogon Gangri Karma Rinpoche of Martsang Kagyu Buddhist Centre to consecrate and lead the prayer during our anniversary celebration of the Tibetan Peace Garden. The Tibetan National Football Team from India will also join the celebration.
The Tibetan National Football Association that governs the Team was founded in 2002 and legally registered in India. Its president is Mrs Jetsun Pema, the sister of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The Tibetan National Football Team has been granted a ‘Wild Card’ to participate in the CONIFA World Football Cup 2018 to be played in London from 31st May to 9th June 2018.
The Tibetan Peace Garden is in the Geraldine Mary Hamsworth Park (next to the Imperial War Museum), open to the public. You are most welcome to join them and show your solidarity and wish them every success in their games.
