Academic Glenn Mullin guest visit for Tibet Foundation

May 31, 2016

On May the 13th Tibet Foundation warmly welcomed long-term friend of the charity and revered Tibetologist Glenn Mullin, who visited The Tibetan Peace Garden on its 17th anniversary, as well as a public talk at SOAS on The Sacred Sites of Atisha and Guru Rinpoche.

Glenn met and discussed Tibetan Buddhism and the importance of peace with local schoolchildren from Southwark at St George's Cathedral, as well as esteemed guests. Under glorious sunshine the group made a visit to the Tibetan Peace Garden, a site commissioned by Tibet Foundation and opened and blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1999. The visit included a talk with a description of the mandala and the sculptures, as well as a minute of silence and prayer.

Glenn also gave an engaging public talk at SOAS University, sharing his knowledge on the Sacred Sites of Aisha and Guru Rinpoche to an enthralled audience, which included a short film and a question and answer session.
The talk drew upon Glenn’s wealth of knowledge having visited and lived in the Himalayas and Central Asia for many years.

A video of the talk is available at this link.
